PBA Tournament of Champions Moves to Detroit in January

The 2014 Professional Bowlers Association Barbasol Tournament of Champions will move to Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, Mich., beginning Jan. 18 and concluding with a live ESPN telecast at noon ET on Sunday, Jan. 26, the PBA announced Friday.

PBA Viper Championship to be televised Sunday, December 8th

The Viper telecast also features the second of four PBA League skills challenges called Time to Strike in which PBA League franchise players Belmonte, Barnes, Sean Rash, Mike Fagan, Bill ONeill, Pete Weber, Osku Palermaa and Norm Duke attempt to throw as many strikes as possible in 90 seconds. The player with the most strikes in 90 seconds wins this leg of the challenge.

Clara Guerrero only third woman ever to advance to televised championship

Clara Guerrero, only the third woman ever to advance to the nationally-televised championship round of a PBA Tour event, made a short-lived, but exciting appearance. The 31-year-old former Wichita State University star now married and an American citizen living not far from Malott in Pflugerville took a 15-pin lead over Malott into the eighth frame of the opening match. But Malott finished with a string of five strikes to eliminate Guerrero, 214-208, and exorcise a personal demon.
